. ADF is currently seeking candidates of the highest caliber for the following position:Part-time Internal Auditor – Scottsdale, AZ
The Internal Auditor (IA) provides independent and objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve the Alliance Defense Fund’s operations.
•The IA will accomplish these goals by developing a systematic and disciplined approach for evaluating, monitoring and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control and processes. Work involves conducting performance, financial and internal control, and compliance reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with external guidelines and laws, and internally established guidelines.
•Analyze and assess potential problems and risks. Skill in collecting and analyzing complex data, evaluating information and systems, drawing logical conclusions and making recommendations for solutions to improve policies or procedures accordingly.
•May work with outside auditors to help reconcile discrepancies or support the external auditing function.
•Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures regulations and laws within the not for profit sector.
•Provide on-going communication to the COO, CFO and Board Finance/Audit Committee.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
•B.S. or B.A. degree in Finance or Accounting; Certification as a CIA or CPA, highly recommended. Maintains all organizational and professional ethical standards.
•Considerable knowledge of and skill in applying internal auditing and accounting principles and practices, and management principles and preferred business practices. Knowledge of the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Code of Ethics developed by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
•Considerable skill in using a computer with word processing, spreadsheet and other business software to prepare reports, memos, summaries and analyses.
•Considerable skill in effective verbal and written communications, including active listening skills and skill in presenting findings and recommendations, as well as interview skills.
•Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with ADF Team Members and external contacts, and to work effectively in a professional team environment.
•Ability to professionally handle confidential informationPart-time positions are not benefits eligible.
Team Members designated as part-time normally work approximately 25 hours per week.
