About RGBI
The Rio Grande Bible Institute located in Edinburg, Texas is a faith mission, evangelical and fundamental in doctrine, Biblical in emphasis, and nondenominational. Our desire is to provide Biblical preparation for those whom God has called, in spite of limited financial resources. The challenge of reaching Latin America is continually increasing. The goal of the Rio Grande Bible Institute is to help meet that challenge by “training godly leaders for the Spanish-speaking world.”

Bible School
To the Latin American students who study here, Rio Grande is the place where they prepare to serve the rapidly growing but needy Latin American church.

Language School
The Missionary Language School has been privileged to teach appointees from 50 different missionary sending organizations. For those who make the long trip to South Texas each year, Rio Grande means 9 months of intense Spanish study.

Winter Volunteers
For the Winter Volunteers - a special group of friends from the North who come to campus each winter - Rio Grande is a place to serve the Lord. These industrious volunteers have built most of the campus buildings, enabling the Institute to be better stewards of the finances God provides.

Correspondence School
For those who want to study the Word of God but cannot attend the Bible Institute, Rio Grande's Correspondence School provides convenient study-at-home materials.

Radio Hope
For thousands of radio listeners in South Texas and northern Mexico, the Rio Grande valley is the home of their favorite station, Radio Esperanza. This exciting AM and FM ministry (KRIO910 AM, KOIR 88.5 FM & KBMI 97.5 FM) beams the Gospel in Spanish into areas where missionaries or pastors may never be able to go.

Video Esperanza
Video Hope is an extension of Rio Grande Bible Institute through video and audio materials, making it possible for those who are unable to attend the Institute be trained in God’s Word.

Self Funded Distinctives
Because the Rio Grande Bible Institute is a faith mission, it is supported through the voluntary giving of God's people. Most of its operating expenses are covered by donations. Because each staff member's financial support comes from gifts sent in by churches and individuals, our charges can be kept to a minimum. The majority of the approximately 100 staff members do not receive a salary, but seek ministry partners who support them financially. For this reason, RGBI is able to offer a complete education for a fraction of the cost elsewhere. We are therefore looking for dedicated people, called of God, who are willing to serve at RGBI on a self-supported basis or who are willing personally to raise funds for the position’s RGBI-specified salary via deputized fund raising.
