House Parents

Job Description:
His House Children's Home, located in Miami Gardens, Florida, is a faith based non-profit organization dedicated to restoring joy in the lives of children and families. The agency provides residential care and case management for abused, neglected and drug exposed children from new born to 18 years of age. We are committed to breaking the cycle of abuse while meeting the needs of the whole child. Other services provided by His House include in-house counseling, The His House Academy, an on-campus school, Camp 33, an eight-week summer camp, life skills training for teens, tutoring, weekly athletics, art and dance, as well as a foster and adoption program in a tri-county area.

Our model is unlike your typical shelter. Each cottage provides a home for six to twelve children and is staffed with house parents and supporting caregivers. It is the goal of His House to give each cottage a family-feel and make the home as cozy and home-like as possible.

We are seeking dedicated, mission-driven married couples and/or individuals with a heart for serving children in crises. Candidates must have strong parenting skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as a call to make a difference in the lives of children.

Candidates must have a minimum of one (1) year experience in a service profession/childcare or related field and a high school diploma or equivalent.

This is a live-in position with salary, room and board, and utilities. Benefits available include: health, dental, vision, life, AD&D, LTD, AFLAC insurance, paid vacation time and personal days.
