Protects the integrity and reputation of the ministry through the design, implementation and management of the organization's overall internal audit, risk management and quality assurance programs. Provides accountability for information security, insuring that the organization complies with relevant laws and regulations. Communicates findings, recommendations and follow-up results to the executive management team and board of directors. Maintains independence, while providing a resource to all corporate divisions. Supports the CFO with legal compliance and oversight for worldwide ministry. Serves on the Global Executive Leadership Team.

Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; faithfully prays for and supports the ministry of Compassion is an advocate for children and raises the awareness in addressing child poverty.
Provides strategic and operational oversight of the Office of Risk Management. Leads, develops and supervises staff by encouraging their professional development that will insure quality services and contribute to the overall ministry of Compassion.
Insures that a comprehensive internal audit and risk management program is in place to provide the global management with a systematic review and assurance that governance processes and compliance methods are in place
Protects the organization from fraud and abuse by insuring that appropriate processes for reporting and managing unethical or illegal actions.are in place and by providing support to the investigation of any allegations.
Provides leadership, advice and direction to the organization regarding crisis management and contingency planning, risk exposure, regulatory and internal compliance and ethical practices.
Provides leadership and advice to the Finance & Audit Committee of the Board and builds confidence to assure Compassion's reputation of integrity is being protected. Serves as a member of the Global Executive Leadership Team.
Builds a network of peer contacts, well-trained and prepared staff and professionally qualified consultants to ensure that Compassion is appropriately protected and informed of risk exposures.
Contributes to cross-functional projects, teams, task forces and assignments in a way that promotes the achievement of outcomes and deliverables in a responsible and balanced manner.
Oversees the functions of Information Security, Global Audit and Quality Assurance.


Leadership characterized by integrity and honesty with an ability to speak the truth with diplomacy and sensitivity.
Good organizational and administrative skills with problem solving logic.
A worldview and interpersonal skills that allow effective cross-cultural communication and interaction
Ability to think strategically and implement operational plans
Experience in auditing, assessment and business analysis, including the development of programs and tools.
General knowledge of legal requirements, systems development and risk analysis in a multinational environment.
Ability to lead-up to peers, Global Executive Leadership Committee members and Board members. Must instill confidence and demonstrate technical skills required to oversee and direct this function.

Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Undergraduate degree in a business related field. Masters degree preferred.
Ten years experience in a professional or managerial role.
Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in the field of Risk Management.
Certifications/Licensing: Professional recognition such as CPA, CIA,CISA or CFE.
Experience in management/leadership of staffs from diverse backgrounds.
Other Required Skills: Cross cutural relationship and communication skills are essential.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Mainly works in an office environment with some short term exposure to developing nations where living and working conditions may be harsh
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Travel conditions may at times be physically difficult.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Estimated to be 25% depending on risk assessments and supervisory needs. Travel to some locations may be dangerous.
