JOB BRIEF


Responsible for supporting contract formation, contract negotiations, contracts administration and facilitates the Contracts Lifecycle Team. Provides a legal perspective as developed through a paralegal education and experience, and leads the improvement of organizational processes related to contract management. Responsible for managing the contract database and all associated files for all types of contractual agreements entered into by Compassion. Prepares and distributes reports and statistical data to facilitate planning and maintenance of accurate contracts records and files.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.

Responsible for assuring compliance with pre-existing Compassion Management and Board policies, specifically policy G-1 as it relates to Corporate Contracts. Responsible for assuring Compassion’s contracts management process is followed. Maintains the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting ethically and with integrity, and reporting non-compliance.

Facilitates the team responsible for the development and execution of contract strategies, creation and maintenance of contract templates, and contract formation and negotiation.

Leads in the improvement of organizational processes related to contract management. Assist with document development for new contract requirements. Provide contractual policy and procedural input as needed. Recommend modifications to accommodate regulatory, legislative, industry or Compassion changes.

Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other Compassion service providers and business units.

Own and provide leadership for the contracts database function. Organize, maintain and electronically track all contracts and related documents. Ensure that database system functions properly; to serve the contracts process and its end-users. Maintains integrity of compliance and legal files by reviewing and updating files in the contract management database. Includes proper record retention of all contractual documents.

Develop and conduct training on contract management processes.


Requirements FUNCTIONAL JOB COMPETENCIES

Direct experience developing and reviewing commercial contracts relating to professional services, information technology, software development, confidentiality, licensing, marketing agreements, alliance and shared services is preferred. (Apply Expertise)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Paralegal degree or certification from an American Bar Association approved program.
Seven years paralegal experience working with contract administration concepts, practices, procedures and contract law with four years of contract management process responsibilities.
Certifications/Licensing: Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) designation preferred, but not required.
Other Required Skills: Advanced knowledge of commercial contract law, legal principles and their application in the contract lifecycle process. Knowledge of and experience with non-disclosure agreements, contractor agreements, intellectual property, contract management, and general business principles. Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
