Job Description:

Applicants must be willing to relocate to work on site at the ministry offices in Wake Forest, NC.

Are you an experienced digital filmmaker? Do you have a reputation as a good storyteller? Do you enjoy working on documentary-style projects with a talented team? Are you searching for an opportunity to use your gifts and skills to help spread Christ-centered truths around the world? If so, we’d love to talk with you about this opening.

So what’s the job?

We’re looking for an experienced filmmaker to lead our team of videographers and video editors to produce Christ-centered, cinematic-quality, documentary-style, care-ministry videos, promotional videos, and training videos. The person we need has experience improving the quality and quantity of a team’s output.

What kind of films would you make?

We create video-based resources that equip churches to do care ministry. We produce DivorceCare, GriefShare, DivorceCare for Kids, Single and Parenting, and a new website called We need someone to give our new materials a more realistic, cinematic look and to help us come up with effective, creative ways of communicating God’s truth using stories, animations, interviews, and drama.

Currently, more than 20,000 churches around the world use our materials. Every week, we hear stories from people who tell us how our materials have saved marriages, prevented suicides, helped people deal with grief, introduced people to the Lord, and much, much more.

And we want to hear more stories like that. So we need an experienced filmmaker/producer to improve the look of our resources and help grow our video team as our workload increases.

Who would you work with?

Our Lead Digital Filmmaker/Producer will report directly to our Executive Producer. He or she will also work closely with our Senior Writer and Project Manager to write and produce films that achieve the goals the Executive Producer sets for each project.

Additionally, our Lead Digital Filmmaker/Producer will give direction to our Director of Video Services and contract the videographers and editors that we employ. Occasionally, you’d interact with some of our other writers, editors, and proofreaders.

You’re the right person for this job if ...

You’re a strong storyteller with 5–7 years of experience shooting, editing, and producing films that:

  • Influence people’s thinking and attitudes with Christ-centered principles

  • Motivate people to act in ways consistent with a Christ-centered worldview

  • Match or exceed the production quality of the secular media/content people consume

The person we’re looking for also has experience:

  • Shooting and editing (Adobe Premiere experience is preferred.)

  • Managing multiple projects at the same time

  • Hiring and managing digital creatives (videographers, editors, graphic designers, and freelance artists)

  • Leading, training, and developing other digital creatives

  • Producing short- and long-format programming

  • Experience leading an internship program is a plus.

Required character

This position plays a central role in a Christian ministry, so it is important that applicants demonstrate spiritual maturity, including faith in Jesus Christ and active participation in a local church.

IMPORTANT: Your cover letter should include links to your work or a demo reel. Please clearly indicate for which what aspects of the videos you were responsible.
