Grace Chapel is actively seeking a dynamic, energetic, passionate, and driven person to fill the position of Kidventure Program Director in our Children’s Ministry. Our Children’s Ministry is dedicated to families with infants through 5th graders. Program Director of Kidventure

The Program Director of Kidventure plays a vital role in developing and empowering leaders and parents to become spiritual leaders of children. This person excels at vision casting, team building, and leadership development. His/Her primary concern is empowering the whole congregation (leaders and parents) to take an active role in discipling children and to be on mission with Jesus together. This leader will help cultivate a Spirit-filled environment for our children. Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”


Spiritual Qualifications and Character Traits

Lives out a mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, faithfully expresses the spiritual attributes and moral character of a person in Christian leadership. Be in full agreement with the Concern, Cause, Beliefs, Rhythms and Team Norms of Grace Chapel.

  • Display spiritual qualities of love, faithfulness, availability, gentleness, teachability, self-control, perseverance, joy, humility and peace.
  • Pastoral care and shepherding for all children regardless of ethnicity, gender or socio-economic status, and not indulge in favoritism or exclusive relationships within the ministry.
  • Be a servant leader in the model of Jesus Christ.
  • Displays character and integrity within the Church ministry and personal life.
  • Demonstrates life in the Spirit and abiding in Christ.
  • Be discerning, friendly, outgoing, energetic, positive, dependable, compassionate, organized, flexible and confidential.

Personal Skills

  • Be a leader, having the ability to instruct, recruit, cast vision, and resource ministry teams.
  • Possess adequate knowledge for dealing with family dynamics and ability to keep confidences.
  • Ability to attend to details while still maintaining a larger vision of the ministry.
  • Demonstrate a love and an ability to relate to a wide range of people.
  • Be a team player with the staff.
  • Personal experience in parenting and raising children.
  • Be able to subscribe to a strong level of commitment and work ethic.
  • Has a passion for equipping others, a calling to disciple children and families, and an excitement about being part of a larger team working together toward common goals.

Technical Skills

  • Have a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree from an accredited Bible College or Seminary, or equivalent.
  • Be open to receive additional training as needed, or attend enhancement conferences.
  • Be able to plan, manage, and implement a budget.
  • Be able to organize and maintain multiple aspects of ministry simultaneously.
  • Display basic computer competency. Mac familiarity preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Kidventure Team through vision casting. Vision is caught, not taught.
  • Build and lead a volunteer team through the concepts outlined in the Volunteer Project.
  • Plan and organize trainings for the Kidventure and Volunteer teams.
  • Lead a team that creates an safe environment that encourages kids to learn about Jesus.
  • Manage the oversight schedule.
  • Oversees and runs Sunday morning programming.
  • Work with Kidventure team to develop and implement special programming and projects.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of ministry based on Life Change testimonies, both in individuals as well as family units.
  • Building intentional connections with other ministry leaders of churches and outside organizations.
  • Attend department head meetings on a weekly basis.
  • Partner with the Adult Community Team to assimilate and connect new families.
  • Proactively welcome and seek out families on Sunday mornings .
  • Help organize baby dedications and children’s baptisms.
  • Oversee that our curriculum reflects the Grace Chapel Rhythms.
  • Encourage families to participate in church-wide service projects.
  • Continue to work with leaders in the implementation of continuity in the entire Grace Chapel youth community.
  • Recruit, retain, and train volunteers.
  • Create specific roles for volunteer staff.
  • Conduct searches, interviews, and recruiting activities to gain volunteer staff.
  • Correct or dismiss volunteers who do not meet mission or abide by our Safety and Policy & Procedure Manual.
  • Develop and Lead volunteers.
  • Lead regular volunteer meetings designed to train, motivate, and hold volunteers accountable.
  • Develop personal relationships with volunteers through lunches and get-togethers.
  • Design timely paths for volunteer development.
  • Encourage Spiritual practices among volunteers.

Family Outreach and Care

  • Participate in the Grace Chapel care ministry that will assist individuals and families in their times of need.
  • Provide support to families in partnership with pastors.
  • Keep track, celebrate and support all new parents and new family additions (ie. biological, foster and adopted).
  • Develop specific outreaches and programs to families in our community (ie. sports camps, Harvest parties, Christmas events).
