Job Description:

The Fold Family Ministries is a Christ-centered residential program for troubled teens. Providing a safe, loving, and grace-filled environment, we offer a new beginning for both teens and their parents in crisis. Our mission is to help families find hope and healing in Christ.

The Fold’s Cornerstone Christian School primarily serves our residents and provides a complete Junior and Senior High School educational program. The teacher to student ratio averages 1:5 optimizing opportunity for academic achievement and discipleship. We utilize a home school curriculum that allows us to create individualized programs for each student. Teachers and residential staff are trained in the same Christ-centered discipleship principles bringing continuity and effective ministry. Teaching at The Fold is a great opportunity for anyone who has a passion for teaching, tutoring, and mentoring teens. We are a Recognized Independent School by the state of Vermont.

Responsibilities include:

  • - Tutor students one on one
  • - Monitor student independent learning
  • - Access individual student needs
  • - Encourage academic and spiritual growth and challenge
  • - Document daily and weekly progress
  • - Plan, schedule, and lead weekly devotionals and activities
  • - Maintain accurate recordkeeping and files
  • - Support and encourage other aspects of the ministry
  • - Live and role-model a surrendered Christ-centered life

Preferred Profile and Experience:

  • - A calling to work with teens in conflict
  • - A servant’s heart, desire to nurture others, and an ability to work as a team player
  • - Experience in homeschooling, tutoring, or mentoring
  • - Proficient in core subject material for grades 7-9 or higher
  • - Administrative skills and the ability to create an atmosphere that challenges and encourages students
  • - Good communication skills, integrity, humility, and teach-ability
  • - Bachelor’s degree (Bachelors in Education and a teaching license are desirable, but not required.)
  • - 2-5 year commitment

Salary and Benefits:

  • - Monthly salary provided; staff are to raise prayer and additional financial support
  • - Limited availability for onsite housing
  • - Four eleven-day breaks a year at fixed times
  • - Two consecutive days off a week
