Role: Strategy and Operations Manager
Iraqi Christian Relief Council, a recognized 501 (c) (3) which exists to support and protect persecuted Assyrians Christians in Iraq and other countries in the Middle East by providing emergency humanitarian aid, prayer support, and public awareness. Due
to the recent media attention of the persecution that exists in Iraq, the organization has grown tremendously and is in the process of putting solutions in place to sustain long term.
The Strategy and Operations Manager is a new position designed to help Iraqi Christian Relief Council sustain its recent growth and solidify its presence as a leader in this area of work. This position works very closely with the President of the organization
as well as key consultants. This position reports to the President and will be required to be both a big-picture strategic thinker and focused on the important details. Applicants should have an entrepreneurial spirit, be able to bring ideas and solutions
to the table in all areas, and should be a self-starter. The skill-set needed is wide ranging and demanding, however there is great opportunity to grow within the organization at this crucial time. A successful candidate will possess a current knowledge of
the religious and ethnic persecutions in the Middle East.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Fund development support activities
> Manage entire gift processing procedures each week through donor management software
> Coordinate and implement gift thanking process each week
> Maintain proper records within the database
> Manage the year-end tax receipt process
> Perform donor prospect research and analyze giving trends for President
> Manage grant process
Organization scheduling and event support
> Manage and maintain the organization’s event, speaking, and media schedule
> Identify and research events and speaking opportunities for President that will promote the organization’s work
> Work with event hosts to plan and organize day-of details, speaking fee invoicing, and/or travel
> Work with travel agent to book flights, hotels, and rental car
> Assist outside book-keeping service with monthly reconciliation and accounts payable details
> Manage Board of Directors meeting schedule and member coordination to ensure attendance and proper reporting occurs
> President general correspondence support on a daily basis
> Field donor or partner inquiries and filter appropriate requests for President
> Implement best practices for small office start-up such as IT solutions, insurance, and other general office management tasks
Manage implementation of PR, mass donor campaigns, and communication
> Manage the blog, photography web-site content – keeping news and articles up to date
> Coordinate organization’s volunteers when appropriate
> Provide social media support and PR support as required
> Manage communication with mass level donors through e-news and direct mail coordination
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field
Proficiency in the use of computer for: Fundraising software, Word, Excel, Power point, WordPress, Social Media
Experience: Must have general working knowledge of nonprofit structure as well as some level of financial training. Candidate must be an exceptional writer and have a warm phone presence. In our eyes, eager candidates can be trained for the role. We are anxious

The organization’s office hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm CT. However, staff is periodically required to work or be available/reachable during evenings and weekends for meetings, campaigns, and events.
Travel required will not exceed 20%
Relocation to the organization’s HQ in Evanston, Illinois will be required. A $1,000 relocation credit will be received after a positive 90 day review.
Full Time Position
Paid time off (PTO) allowed is 10 days

Cell Phone Allowance is $50 per month with expense report
