Job Description:

LifeWay is seeking a Advertising Sales Specialist. This position will help Media Business Development serve churches in their mission of making disciples, by identifying, creating, and selling customized, integrated advertising and promotions in LifeWay’s digital, print, event, and other media channels.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Creates, manages and maintains customer relationships (internal & external)
  • Identify, qualify, prospect, research, and close purchasers of advertising & sponsorships (ongoing responsibility)
  • Develop annual sales plans & progress reports
  • Meet and/or exceed sales goals
  • Continually learn audience, products, sales techniques, competitive landscape, & technology
  • Attend selected trade shows, conferences, etc. to meet with advertisers and/or sponsors

Requirements, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong customer focus and commitment (quality, creativity & efficiency)
  • Ability to be an adaptive learner of people, systems, processes, practices & technology
  • Self starter and independent thinker with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to build, maintain, & manage strong working relationships/partnerships (internally & externally)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written & oral)
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of hunting/prospecting for market opportunities
  • Proven track record of creating, meeting and/or exceeding sales goals
  • Passion and compassion for others
  • Working knowledge of contact management systems
  • Clear understanding of the beliefs and lifestyle practices generally held by conservative Christians
  • Active church participation


Education, Certifications, and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Sales , Business or Counseling (preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in non-transactional/consultative sales (Technology, Pharmaceutical, Equipment, etc.)
