Job Description:

Boise Christian Homes is licensed by the State of Idaho to provide residential care for youth between the ages of birth and 17.  With 74 years’ service, the Ranch has been providing a place where children are encouraged to grow into productive committed Christian adults.  We ask our staff to form positive relationships with our children that will give them an understanding of God’s loving nature and provide them exemplary direction and role models they need to become healthy adults.  Applicants must be spiritually mature, have experience in successfully leading children and working well with other staff members.  Placement of children into your care is carefully determined based on your input, staff review and meeting Ranch guidelines for positive results.

These positions require an FBI Background check, fingerprinting, personal reference and work experience verification prior to employment and moving to the Ranch.  Schedules require working 6 days per week meeting the needs of the children in your care as you would your own biological children. These are not 8 – 5 positions; in order to facilitate life at the Ranch you will be expected to deal with life moments as they occur.  All staff members have secondary jobs in addition to their duties as house parents.

Salary is DOE but competitive with other ministries.  Benefits include access to the food pantry, clothing room, 100% paid health care premium, 90% out-of-pocket reimbursement for Dental, Vision and Doctor Visits as well as participation in the 401(k) retirement plan.  You will have one day off each week to spend time with your spouse and biological children.

You must be 21 + years of age, married, fluent in English, possess a valid drivers' license and good driving record, pass drug and tuberculosis screenings, and pass thorough background checks.  You must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.  College coursework in social work, psychology, education or a related field is preferred, as is experience working with youth. You may have up to three of your own children and one pet living with you.
