Job Description:
OUTCOMES
-A strategic plan is developed and implemented that addresses programming , facility needs, staffing and financial stability for both the short-term and long-term effectiveness of the camp in order to provide an atmosphere that positively influence people in making decisions for Christ and in developing spiritual maturity, vision, commitment and ministry.

-A strategy is developed and implemented to address the programming needs of the camp. As a result current programs are planned and communicated with adequate time for effective implementation and management. New programs are also investigated and implemented that enhance the overall ministry of the facility.

-Policies and procedures are in place to ensure compliance with Divisional and Territorial mandates as well as the safety of participants and staff (safe from harm, etc.).

-Evaluations of programs are routinely completed with reports to the Divisional Secretary for Program.

-The entire facility is managed in a manner that ensures the integrity of the grounds and buildings are maintained in a manner that is fiscally sound and ensures the infrastructure to support the programs and ministry of Wonderland Camp.

-Both short-term and long-term maintenance plans are developed and implemented.

-Plans are developed to provide for new and long-term ministry needs.

-A marketing plan is developed and implemented that effectively communicates the resources/programs of the camp. The result will be a high level of visibility as well as utilization by both internal external groups.

-Wonderland Camp is appropriately represented at public events that impact the ongoing ministry strategy and goals of the facility.

-The camp is run in a manner that meets budget expectations and complies with Metropolitan Division policies and procedures.

-Employees and volunteers are recruited, trained and developed in a manner that imparts clear directions and leadership. As a result, staff are led and mentored in a way that imparts a clear vision and provides effective communication, resulting in a team environment to carry out the objectives of the Camp.

-In conjunction with the Divisional Secretary for Programs and other Divisional staff, a coordinated and integrated strategy is developed, implemented and evaluated on an on-going basis that ensures Wonderland Camp is an essential part of the overall ministry of the Metropolitan Division.

-Good working relationships with both Territorial and Divisional contacts are developed and maintained.

-In participation with the Development Department, sources of income/funds are identified and contacted.

COGNITIVE:
An understanding of the cutting edge issues/programs involved in effective camp ministry, especially in cross-cultural environments.

A growing knowledge of the Armys history, mission, and structure, as well as its services, policies and procedures.

Effective written and oral communication skills, especially in public presentations.

EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree, preferably in Ministry or Christian Education, with advanced training or degree desired.

A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in ministry leadership, working with a variety of church leaders and programming. This includes a "hands-on" exposure to integrating camp/conference center ministry into the overall ministry of the church.



PERFORMANCE MEASURES
This individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved, as well as the overall operations and programming of Wonderland Camp.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to the Divisional Secretary for Program.

This individual relates to, and interacts with, a wide range of contacts both within and outside the Salvation Army including consistent interaction with Corps Officers and members. In these contacts, the Director acts as a representative of the Army and its mission.

POSITION LIMITATIONS
In conducting the duties of this position, this individual will not fail to accurately represent the mission or teachings of the Salvation Army.

The individual shall not fail to keep the Divisional Secretary for Program informed of all critical issues relating to his/her area of responsibility.

The individual may not commit Agency resources which have not been allocated or approved.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT
This position has an essential role in fulfilling the full mission of the Salvation Army. Because of the integral nature of this responsibility, active membership in a Salvation Army Corps is required.
