With 27 exquisite guest rooms, Osprey Point Retreat & Conference Center ( is a beautiful property on the Chesapeake Bay located on 15 private and secluded acres, 90 minutes from Washington D.C. and Baltimore. Part of Sunrise Senior Living, Inc., Osprey Point is host to leadership meetings and events year-round.

We are currently seeking a Chef/Assistant Manager to work with the General Manager to provide leadership and direction for all hospitality at this faith based community in Royal Oak, MD. The ideal candidate will lead the hospitality food preparation and dining area, assure that the physical plant is well maintained and conducive to a learning environment, and that world-class customer service is delivered to all guests. Specific responsibilities in leading the operations of food and beverages include: coordinating menu with meeting planners; controlling food and beverage purchasing and storage; preparing high quality meals and maintaining impeccable kitchen sanitation; managing the kitchen within the budget provided by each group; and leading the service staff as needed. This person will also be responsible for personally interacting with the guests making them feel pampered and at home while receiving first class services. As Assistant Manager, this person will be responsible for assisting with all phases of the operation including: providing handyman style maintenance duties; managing any maintenance contracts for larger scale issues; running the entire operations for small groups; assuring appropriate guest room and common area housekeeping standards are met; ensure that the landscaping, building appearance (interior and exterior), lighting, walks, driveway and parking lot are all well maintained; ensuring all recreational facilities are in good working order; coordinating the scheduling of all events, including guest reservations, staffing needs, meal preparation and serving, and technical support for groups; providing all guests an environment of warmth and caring, from arrival to departure; developing marketing plans and programs to generate new business, while retaining existing customer base; and issuing contracts for needed outside assistance - i.e. landscaping.

It is very important that the candidate understand that they will be working closely with Christian based thought leaders and organizations, specifically the Trinity Forum. This person will actively participate in the lives of the Academy Fellows (on-site staff/interns).

This person will be required to possess: a strong hospitality mindset and a servant heart; an entrepreneurial spirit with the willingness to take things on with a minimum of outside resources; be innovative and flexible with a culinary customer focus; and patience for staff development. Pre-requisites include a faith-based value system; the ability to routinely work weekends; the ability to work through any meal periods including dinner hour; prior experience in hospitality; and prior managerial experience.
