Job Description:
This position will write copy for use in print and web materials to aid sales representatives and marketing managers in promoting InterVarsity Press books to Christian, general and academic markets.


Produce Copy for Promotional pieces by:
- Writing copy for projects such as letters, sales flyers, book information sheets, catalogs, print and web advertisements, direct mail and other print collateral
- Meeting with Editorial representatives, Sales Mgrs., Marketing Mgrs. for strategizing, planning and scheduling of projects
- Collaborating closely with other members of the Creative Services team including the Art Director and print and web designers on strategy and implementation of projects
- Reporting regularly to the Communications Manager for copy direction and approval

Contribute to the Effectiveness of the Production Department by:
- Participating as part of Creative Services team
- Attending regular department meetings
- Collaborating with other departments within IVP
- Working with department interns as needed

- Annually affirm InterVarsitys Statement of Faith as a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ
- Bachelors Degree in Communications, English or related field
- Demonstrated written and oral communications skills with ability to tailor messages to varied audiences
- 1-3 years experience writing promotional copy
- Familiarity with Windows OS and/or Macintosh OS
- Proven Creativity
- Good attention to detail and planning and organizing skills
- Proven judgment

- Proven collaboration and teamwork skills
- Ability to learn
- Flexibility to attend Urbana Student Missions Conference every three years, Dec. 26-Jan.1, and National Staff Conference every three years (the year after Urbana), approximately Jan. 3-8
