Under the direction of the Academic Vice President and Dean, the Professor of Creative Leadership is responsible for all of the following policies and procedures related the Creative Leadership: Entrepreneurial Ministry Design program:
defining and implementing an educational philosophy of CL consistent with SCCs mission, statement of faith, and ethos;
developing and overseeing the CL academic policy, program, and curriculum
recruiting, nominating, supervising and developing CL faculty, and representation of the faculty to SCC leadership;
representing academic needs and academic progress of students to the SCC leadership.
Classroom Instruction to include three 3-credit hour courses per semester.
Administrative Responsibilities to include:
Assist the Academic Vice President and Dean with administrative responsibilities including overseeing the development of the 4 year program in Creative Leadership.
Participate in Orientation/Convocation and Graduation Ceremonies
Attend faculty meetings, retreats and other committee/team involvement as assigned by the Academic Vice President and Dean.
Maintain CAPstone and Mentoring responsibilities.
Maintain regular office hours.
Faculty Mentoring and Advising as assigned by the Academic Vice President and Dean to include
Assist the Coordinator of Mentoring and the Coordinator of CAPstone in designing and implementing the Faculty Mentoring/Advising Program.
Mentor a select number of fulltime students through the CAPstone experience by facilitating groups in CAPstone courses and at other times individually and corporately throughout the academic program.
Five years or more of administration, supervision, and senior leadership in higher education or in organizations requiring comparable skills and background.
Leadership based on academic foundations, mission-driven vision, and creative energy.
Proven integration of academic, ministry, and service values and practice.
Masters Degree in a discipline directly related to Entrepreneurial Ministry or Leadership, e.g., higher education, business, marketing, public relations, etc. (Ph.D. preferred)
Formal studies or proven expertise in adult education and teaching, especially regarding issues and practices relating to non-traditional learners.
Graduate and/or undergraduate degrees in supporting, related disciplines (e.g., ministry, biblical studies, Christian education, education, humanities).
Commitment to SCC Christian distinctives, including a Christ-centered curriculum, an evangelical theological approach, and appreciation of diverse Christian backgrounds and traditions.
Vibrant Christian walk, characterized by mature relationships with others, consistent devotional life, and active involvement with local church.
Articulate in written and oral communications.
Able to develop teamwork while organizing people and ideas.
Creative in problem solving and conflict resolution.
Initiates ideas and delegates responsibility appropriately.
Maintains high expectations and positive collegial relationships.
Pleasant, professional environment.
Regular interaction with staff, faculty, and students.
Some travel required in the region. Evening hours and weekend tasks required.
