POSITION TITLE:  Musicians Director


REPORTS TO:  Music Ministry Director/Culture Pastor


General Summary:  The Musicians Director works closely with the Music Ministry Director, Choir Directors, and the Worship Team Director to ensure implementation of the Senior Pastor’s vision for the Church.  They are responsible for ensuring that the Musicians are fully functioning and have the resources needed.

The Musicians Director is to serve the church by ensuring spirit filled music programs for all services of worship and special events and by supervising musicians involved in the music ministry.  In addition, they are to maintain:


A fervent life of prayer faithfully attending a minimum of one prayer/praise service per week and attending devotedly to scripture


  • A  faithfulness to the activities and functions of the ministry
  • A consistency in tithing and sowing into the ministry
  • A commitment to loving and serving the people
  • And model Jesus methods in servant leading


Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure a full complement of musicians for all rehearsals, services of worship and special programs, including a selection of hymns, choir, and praise and worship music
  • Establish departmental goals and objectives
  • Provide support in the areas of motivation and training for department members
  • Provide substitute when not able to be present
  • Recruit musicians who meet the spirit of the church
  • Hold regular musician rehearsals
  • Support choirs and worship teams by learning and accompanying in rehearsal with selected music
  • Supervise the organist, pianist and all musicians
  • Organize and maintain music library
  • Develop the musical gifts and talents of the congregation, inviting members to use them as special music, in seasonal programs and special music programs
  • Complete ministry progress reports monthly.  Submit overall report to Music Ministry Director
  • Accompany Senior Pastor to engagements
  • Cooperate with the Music Ministries Director, Pastors and Church Administrators by performing any other duties when asked to do so
