Manager/Facilitator of European-Style Caffe Ministry
Immanuel Church-West Bend WI
West Bend, Wisconsin, United States
Date Posted: 08/29/2006
Job Type: Full-Time
We are looking for a friendly, outgoing, and creative person to oversee a cutting-edge ministry in downtown West Bend, Wisconsin - a northern suburb of Milwaukee. The ministry takes place in Pillllars Caffe, a European-style espresso bar with a stunning atmosphere. Currently, it functions as a cereal/coffee bar during the mornings, a relaxed atmosphere during the evenings, and a local music hall on Saturday nights.
We have only begun to tap the potential of this building. Currently, it is primarily used as a place to establish relationships with the local community. We would like to see it become a more intentional bridge to other church ministries. We need someone who is willing to partner with our church in making Pillllars a friendly place for relationships to develop and a forum for intentional outreach events.
The right person for this job will possess a balance of managerial and ministerial skills. Managerial responsibilities would include ordering product, pricing, inventory control, marketing, programming activities, hiring, working the counter and overseeing a staff of baristas. Ministerial responsibilities would include working with Immanuels pastoral staff to create ways to maximize Pillllars for the good of the community and the church. This is a full-time position. Salary is $28,000 to $32,000, depending on experience, with paid vacation and sick days. Full health may be purchased.
Note: This is a job that requires administrative as well as pastoral skills. It will involve reaching out to College/Gen-Xers, but also to children, families, and senior saints. It demands managerial skills and evangelical passion. It is an exciting opportunity for an innovative person interested in creatively using a unique setting for ministry opportunities.
