Northwest Presbyterian Church (NWC) is seeking a Youth Leader who will prayerfully and professionally lead our youth (grades 6-12) to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through discipleship, worship, outreach, and service.
The position is a permanent, part-time position, with the candidate expected to spend an average of 20 hours per week in preparation for and leadership in Jr. and Sr. High youth activities, frequent visitation/contact with youth, and weekly meetings with the senior pastor.

NWC was formally organized in 1990 and currently meets at the Mack Elementary campus of Bellevue Christian School in Woodinville, WA. In early Sept we will be moving into a larger leased facility, just outside of downtown Woodinville. Qualifications and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will model a mature love for Christ and demonstrate competencies in leadership, organization, and communication skills to create and implement discipleship and ministry opportunities for youth. He or she must love working with youth and have experience in discipleship ministries.
The ideal candidate will develop an environment that:
Nurtures our youths relationship to Christ, their families, and each other
Enables youth to develop an enthusiasm for and reliance on the Bible for direction in their lives
Embraces opportunities to serve and reach out in the exercising of their faith
Specific responsibilities include:
Working with the youth ministry team to continuously develop the youth ministry
Overseeing the Jr. & Sr. High Youth programs of the church to include:
o Preparation for and leadership of Jr. and Sr. High Bible studies and meetings
o Pursuing intentional one-on-one contact (phone/email/visitation) with all youth
o Teaching one of the Sunday morning youth classes
Working with pastor to involve youth in worship and ministries of the church
Providing regular communication and feedback to the youth and their parents
Organizing regular mission and service projects
Participating in the life of the congregation, including attendance in Sunday worship
Meeting weekly with the senior pastor
Desired Skills and Personal Characteristics
Demonstrate a mature, personal relationship with Jesus Christ including confidence in prayer, reliance on the Bible, a servant mentality and a Christian lifestyle
Heart-felt calling and strong desire to minister the love of Jesus Christ to youth
Natural love for and confidence in contacting, teaching and building relationships with youth
Education and Experience
A seminary or graduate degree with an emphasis in Bible, theology or Christian education is desired -- however we will accept an exceptional candidate enrolled in at least the junior year of a ministry program at an accredited Bible college
Experience in youth ministry desired
Experience working as a team with other staff, parents and church family
A philosophy of ministry consistent with the church and Senior Pastor and a willingness to learn
The position will be directly supervised by our senior pastor. Our responsibilities to the Youth Leader include weekly contact with the Senior Pastor for support, training, planning and evaluation. The Session will meet at least quarterly with the youth minister for a review of ministry goals and objectives. The salary package is according to experience and education with a minimum $350/week.
