Job Description

SUPERVISOR: Executive Director TITLE: Resource Development Manager

This position is responsible for working with the Executive Director, the Development Committee, and the Board of Directors, to increase private fundraising through individuals, business, and in-kind giving.

Must have a clear desire to serve low-income people, be friendly, flexible, enthusiastic, and passionate about the Christian ministry of Habitat for Humanity.
Possess at least A.A degree and two year - five years progressively responsible experience in individual giving and major gifts.
Proficient in public speaking and able to express ideas verbally and in writing.
Excellent writing skills, including experience in successful fund raising focused on individual, business, and in-kind giving. Strong proofreading and editing skills are a must.
Ability to plan, organize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must be able to communicate clearly and courteously, verbally and in writing with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Be detail oriented and able to work with little supervision and in cooperation with volunteer committees and the Board.
Must enjoy meeting new people and building relationships.
Must not be afraid to meet directly with donor and donor prospects and make face-to-face requests for resources and financial support.
Must be competent in computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Databases.

Advance philanthropic giving for Habitat for HfH-KC ensuring a diversified and stable base of funding from all sources especially in the area of individual giving and major gifts ($25K to 150K+).
Work with the Resource Development committee to identify new contacts, research potential capacity, setup appointments, and perform follow-up activities focusing on growing the donor base and major gifts.
Support Board Members, the Executive Director in meeting with donors and asking for financial support.
Assist with follow-up calling, mailings, and other activities related to building strong donor relationships and enhancing donor confidence in the organization.
Reach out to the general public and donors with the message about Habitat for Humanitys mission to end poverty housing.
Coordinate and oversee direct donor mailings, appeal letters, and other donor enhancement mailings as needed.
Oversee acquisition, solicitation, stewardship and monitoring of all donor data and relationships.
Help with and coordinate preparation of proposals associated with meeting with individual donors.
Other duties associated with fund development, major gifts, and in-kind development as assigned.

Hours: Average 40 hours per week, may vary seasonally. Work outside normal business hours is expected.
