TITLE: Chief Information Officer (CIO)
REPORTS TO: President
STAFF: 400 people worldwide
CLIENT: World Vision International (WVI) is a Christian relief and development organization working for the well being of all people, especially children. Through emergency relief, education, health care, economic development and promotion of justice, World Vision helps communities help themselves. Working on 6 continents, World Vision is one of the worlds largest Christian relief and development organizations offering material, emotional and spiritual support to 100 million people in 96 countries.

World Vision is focused on simplifying work for its staff and freeing up resources for its ministry work. IT will be a key driver and enabler for this organizational transformation. The CIO will need to provide the strategic direction to oversee and lead all aspects of its IT strategy and delivery, ensuring delivery of cost effective IT services that meet the ministry/business needs today and in the future.

5+ years experience as CIO at two or more companies, leading large, diverse IT organizations with global delivery models and 500 + employees
Proven ability to understand the role of IT as it relates to global organizations
Large-scale global systems implementation experience
Deep Christian spirituality and sense of calling to the ministry
Has lived abroad and/or traveled extensively, preferably in developing countries
Demonstrated ability to turn around an IT organization to meet new business and strategic challenges
Experience in leading IT staff under a federated model with many stakeholders
Operates with global mindset in context of uncertainty and ambiguity
Skilled in influencing change in cross-cultural environments
Ability to forge consensus at the senior management level
Ability to think strategically and be a "forward thinker"
Team-oriented and process-oriented leadership style
A passion for and commitment to superior customer service
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related fields
Available to travel as needed
