Job Type: Full-Time
The Video Engineer/Asst. Director of Production Services is the third pillar of a three-man production department management team. With professionals in Audio and Lighting, your main responsibilities would be all things video-related throughout a growing three venue church campus.
Our current facilities include a 1,750 seat main auditorium, a 500 seat video venue/gymnasium, and a 300 seat children's auditorium. We are in the midst of a 210,00SF expansion that provides a 4,000 seat main auditorium, (2) 1,000 seat children's auditoriums, a 350 seat pre-school chapel, and substantial upgrades to television production facilities.
Your immediate responsibilities would include operational and maintenance support of video projectors, and lyric projection computers; Operation and support of a video fly-pack and 4 cameras (including complete calibration of cameras to the board level), video system engineering, board level equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, and technical oversight of paid and volunteer camera ministry directors and camera operators. Also required is monitoring and configuration of our IP-based SNMP management tools for production equipment and networked terminal equipment (Evertz Vistalink).
Further required is ongoing setup, configuration, management and troubleshooting of IP-enabled production equipment, including networked projectors (Christie-Net), fiber-optic transport (Evertz), digital signage content players (Sony NSP-100), and networked lighting control nodes (ETCNet2).
Responsibilities also include occasional "help desk" type support for a 5 seat Apple FCP editing workgroup with a Blackmagic HD/SDI Router and multiple tape machine formats, including VHS, Umatic, D9, DVD, BetaSP and DigiBeta as needed. These responsibilities are limited to hardware issues with video equipment and its interface to the computer hardware. Operational and troubleshooting support of the software is not required.
This workgroup also manages a 30x40 studio for shoots and may require some in-studio camera configuration and technical support at times.
Your future responsibilities would include working with the Director of Production in specifying and coordinating an 10-12 camera production package purchase and installation, including switcher, multi-view monitor walls, tape, router, CG, etc, as well as recruiting, training, and managing the weekend staff for the facilities to provide service production support.
This is an exciting and fulfilling position for the qualified candidate. Trinity is a great work environment with an excellent compensation and benefits package, as well as a work week management approach that is flexible, realistic, promotes productivity, and protects the employee from overload and burnout.
