Job Description:
This position assists the Executive Director in designing, coordinating, and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program that includes annual giving, corporate giving, events, foundation giving, planned giving, lapsed donor, and major gift programs. The Development Associate reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for the organization's consistent achievement of its goals in these areas. The Development Associate can focus on various areas, such as:

Be informed concerning all of IPs programs and giving options.
Conduct all development & fundraising efforts anchored in the principles of sound Biblical stewardship.
Use the donor database and accounting program to track fundraising progress, analyze data, review the performance of fund-raising strategies (such as direct mail appeals), and to target marketing efforts.

Design, implement, track, and evaluate IPs annual event & banquet strategy
Assist in the creation of an annual marketing DVD, that premiers at the banquets

Major Donor Relations:
Establish and maintain ongoing professional relationships with donors and prospective donors, keeping them informed about IPs mission, programs, needs, and giving opportunities.
Actively solicit gifts from any & all prospects, thereby securing financial support for IP and its work.
Develop a portfolio of donors through in-person, phone, postal, and email contact.
Develop a 'Moves management program for each contacted donor.
Contact a targeted number of donors in a given day, week and month, keeping track of all voice mail and e-mail messages left and actual live contacts made.

New and Sustaining Donor Growth:
Help develop and implement annual giving strategies to recruit, retain and upgrade individual donors.
Think proactively of how to grow the IP donor base, being alert to news, photos and stories that might be appropriate for specific donors.
Coordinate an annual holiday telethon

Media and Public Relations:
Represent IP in a knowledgeable and professional manner to potential supporters and the public at large.
Represent IP at public events as needed.
Oversee media relations, public relations, and the production of press releases.
Speak to groups and churches, as needed
Manage IPs presence at events and conferences, as an attendee, exhibitor, or volunteer coordinator, as needed.
Ensure that those engaged to represent IP in fundraising activities are well prepared and provided with appropriate materials.

Other duties:
_Assist in organizing travel arrangements, as needed.
Attend administrative meetings, as needed.
Prepare reports, as requested.
Assist in overseeing development of marketing materials.
Assist with grant proposals, as needed.
Assist with other projects, as requested
