Staff Assistant


Townhall Media is looking for a detail oriented and motivated Staff Assistant to join the team in our Arlington, VA, office.

Responsibilities include: 

• Office maintenance duties - ordering equipment and supplies, travel arrangements, mail distribution, shipping, coordinating meetings, answering phones, routine organization of office common areas, working with building maintenance on any suite issues
• Coordination with Salem Media Group accounting staff on invoices including accounts payable/receivable processing, coding and tracking, purchasing card coding and documentation, fixed asset tracking, contributor setup and invoicing, expense reimbursement reporting
• Work with Salem New Media’s IT Administration Team and assist staff with basic IT and computer issues, including desk set-up for new hires
• Liaison with corporate office contacts and outside service providers

• Assist Business Manager with HR needs – onboard new hires, assist with open enrollment & wellness program, coordinate with the legal department to draft IC and employment agreements, manage timecard and PTO approvals, maintain staff organization chart, among other responsibilities

• Work closely with the VP & General Manager of Townhall Media on specific projects and scheduling
• Handle a variety of other requests as necessary

Job Specification: 
• Background check required
• Proficient in office software; Word, Excel, etc.

• Detail oriented self-starter with strong organization skills
• Able to prioritize and multitask while being flexible in a changing and growing environment
• Comfortable learning new tasks and processes
• Sensitivity to confidential information is key
