Minister of Music and Worship Job Guidelines and Responsibilities of Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church:
The Minister of Music shall be directly responsible to the senior pastor for the planning, execution and development of all music based ministry programs as needed and approved by Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church.
Adoring the One true GOD Direct the planning, coordination, operation, and evaluation of a comprehensive Music Ministry. Cooperate with the Pastor and other staff members in promoting the ministry plan of AMRBC. Maintain a healthy personal relationship with God through committed Bible study and prayer. Maintain proper priorities in the home and be the spiritual leader of his home, if married.
Making Disciples Work with the Senior Pastor and staff in planning all congregational services and coordinate the selection of music. Work to make Anderson Mill Roads music ministry a tool to invite people to come to faith in Christ. Be available for counseling of church and non-church members as needs arise. Actively participate in the churchs outreach programs. Be responsible for enlisting and training leaders in the Music Ministry, and supervise the work of all Music Ministry volunteers.
Relating in Fellowship Be available to consult and assist with music for weddings, funerals and other special events in cooperation with appropriate individuals or groups. Perform hospital visitation as needed or directed by the senior pastor. Add to the spirit of teamwork and unity within ministerial staff by being a Christ-like friend and encourager to each minister.
Building Up the Body Direct the choir and orchestra for all services. Coordinate and/or direct Praise Teams, Youth Choir and Childrens Choirs. Work with the staff and other leaders in selecting, enlisting and training song leaders, accompanists and other musicians who serve in the Music Ministry of the church. Encourage individuals to use their musical gifts in the Music Ministry. Coordinate the training and use of instrumentalists and vocalists in groups or as individuals. Supply articles and promotional information for use in the church newsletter, bulletins and web site relating to the Music Ministry. Serve as ad-hoc member of applicable committees
Conforming to Truth Supervise the maintenance of and additions to the music library, instruments, equipment, supplies, etc. Oversee all technical areas (lighting, audio, visual, etc.) used in the Music Ministry. Work with the staff and appropriate committees in selecting, hiring and training qualified support personnel who serve in the Music Ministry of the church as needed and approved. Utilize current music methods, materials, promotions and administration where appropriate. In consultation with appropriate groups and individuals, prepare an annual Music Ministry budget to be recommended to the finance committee.
