AMERICAN RESCUE WORKERS - WILLIAMSPORT CORPS
TITLE: DIRECTOR OF MENS CENTER/ASSOCIATE PASTOR

REPORT TO: COMMANDING OFFICER

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project a Christian witness and create an atmosphere within the Corps daily activities and operations that will encourage, promote and produce material, physical, financial and spiritual growth of residents, members, employees and staff. Direct, coordinate and oversee all daily activities of Mens Center 24/7. Administer American Rescue Workers policies and procedures

DUTIES:
1.) Interview potential residents. Accept or reject applicants. Maintain a filing system on each applicant that includes a photo ID upon intake. Oversee voucher program for residents for clothing items needed.
2.) Conduct an orientation and educate applicant of ARWs policies, rules and regulations
3.) Determine short and long term goals (3 year plan) of the Centers operations or programs such as educational classes, studies, counseling, etc. Execute action plan.
4.) Set up appropriate Pastoral/MHMR/D&A/Family counseling appointment for each resident. Conduct appropriate agency referral and liason. Arrange appointments and transportation as needed.
5.) Conduct/direct/institute programs designed to help those with issues of alcohol and drug dependency, sexual addictions, family and social issues, etc., by procuring the proper literature and resources needed.
6.) Direct physical maintenance of Mens Center building including cleaning and laundry facilities. Order necessary supplies.
7.) Work with residents on educational opportunities such as obtaining their GED, identification, drivers license, setting goals for obtaining jobs or possibly higher education, etc.
8.) Oversee night watchmen. Plan for proper telephone coverage after business hours.
9.) Be prepared to present morning devotional message as required, preach during Sunday Morning Worship, conduct Wednesday Evening Bible Study Groups as scheduled or in the absence of the CO.
10.) Review rule violations and determine appropriate action required. Must maintain 24 hour availability.
11.) Oversee and supervise the Mens Center Kitchen, employees and helpers. Work to provide a healthy menu and environment that will aid in the physical rehabilitation of our residents. Coordinate grocery shopping with donated foods to save costs.
12.) Attend staff meetings, all church activities, any religious and other related functions of the Corps.
13.) Communicate with Commanding Officer situations requiring his attention. Be prepared to accompany CO on Pastoral calls or duties.
14.) Feed-A-Friend and Christmas Chimney Coordinator
15.) Special assignments as required.
16) Have a comprehensive understanding of the contents of the American Rescue Workers Officers Manual, its doctrinal standard of belief, and the quasi-military form of structure.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Christian commitment. previous administrative and supervisory experience. Degree or some education in Human Services. Counseling experience helpful. Compassionate. Capacity to work with residents/clients that are in extreme need, while reacting under difficult circumstances. Conducts oneself in a professional manner, including acting in cooperation with others in a team effort. Willingness to dress in the appropriate manner to meet professional and other business people in the community. Dress shirt and pants will be the normal working attire, or uniform if applicable. Ability to work at an extremely high level of productivity with a minimum of direct daily supervision. Self motivation is a key characteristic.

Christ-Centered call to ministry.
Education in Ministerial, Missions, and/or Social Work is needed.
Education and/or experience in Drug & Alcohol Counseling is needed.
Administrative & Supervisory skills necessary.
Willing to be a part of a TEAM that consistently ministers to those that society labels as the "down & out" or "unfortunate."
A supportive spouse and/or spouse willing to join you in ministry.
