Position: Director of Marketing
Job Status: Full Time, Exempt
Department: Ministry Segment
Reports To: Executive Director

Position Summary: The Director of Marketing supports the organizations mission, vision and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: life surrendered to Jesus Christ, integrity, courageous leadership, collaboration, sustainability [Personal and Organizational] and excellence. This position is responsible for the strategy, tactics and programs to create interest; demand and market recognition of the Ministry Segments training materials and participant educational/training programs through the use of PR, Product Marketing, Creative Services, Advertising, Strategic Relationships, Direct Events, Channel and Online Marketing. In addition, to ensure the product/experience portfolio is demand driven, this position will collaborate with the Ministry Champion, Ministry Advisory counsel and Executive director and construct the product portfolio to ensure the right mix of product features, performance criteria, positioning and price are achieved to match market demands. This position is also responsible for planning, organizing, training and managing all marketing functions to achieve the Ministry Segments objectives of sales, growth, profits and brand recognition.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
In conjunction with Ministry Champion, Advisory Counsel and the Executive Director this position has the primary responsibility of establishing the product portfolio of training materials and participant educational programs for the Ministry Segment that will achieve an annual revenue growth of 15-20% and ensures at a minimum net margin of 15-20%.
Provide strategic and tactical planning, development, execution and evaluation of the ministry units marketing activities.
Oversees and directs market research, competitor analysis and customer service and retention monitoring processes initiatives
Expected to have/develop an in-depth understanding of the key business drivers and to proactively provide ideas and solutions for building appropriate distribution channels. This position will be responsible for the design of programs, and appropriate testing and development of viral marketing initiatives
Development of programs and systems to increase the quantity and quality of the customer data base and maximize the use of the information in the various direct-mail, website and merchandizing campaigns.
Responsible for development and management of the long-term and short-term marketing plan and budgets. Communicate to senior management the projected costs and timelines for all related campaigns, as well as execution of projects on time and within budget.
Commensurate with growth of revenue and net-income design, lead, build and manage a marketing team capable of carrying out the necessary marketing strategies and tactics

Secondary Responsibilities & Duties:
Must work effectively with Senior-level essence creators, executives, ministry leaders, leaders and staff of outside organizations [Zondervan Publishing House, Advertising Agency, Seminaries]
Must have strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals
Participates fully in professional societies and activities related to the Christian industry in general and the marketing profession in particular
Provides input and support to the organizations leadership in the development of strategic partnerships, alliances, joint ventures and affiliations
Collaborate in the development of the organizations brand identity by understanding our market position, our customers, our competitors and our existing product offering

Essential Job Knowledge:
Entrepreneur with strong ability to assess and meet the needs of markets/customers in a profitable manner. Understands and supports key business drivers such as sales and client retention activities
Commands an understanding of digital media technologies and competence in the area of viral marketing to innovator customer segment
Strong decision making and ability to negotiate, consult and collaborate with internal and external groups
Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning and marketing, business and market development, market research and planning and promotions/advertising
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint in a Windows environment

Job Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field, MBA preferred
A minimum of 5 years experience and a demonstrated track record of accomplishment in Sales and/or Marketing in the training and development industry
Possess entrepreneurial spirit with strong emphasis on meeting the critical needs of target customer in sustained profitable manner
