Job Description:
STEPPING STONE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL and CHILD CARE, a ministry of Liberty Lake Community Church, is currently seeking qualifiied candidates for the position of Director.

I. Qualifications

A. Shall be a person identified as being a Christian, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, with a church affiliation, ministry involvement or participation. It is desirable to be a member of Liberty Lake Community Church.
B. Shall be able to conscientiously work in support of the Articles of Faith of Liberty Lake Community Church as part of this Ministry Program.
C. Shall have an understanding and be able to communicate Biblical truths for training adults and children.
D. Shall be able to implement SSCSCC Core Values and Mission.
E. Education as required by NAYEC:
1. Shall have 15-20 credits in administration or business management
2. Shall have 24 credits in Early Childhood Education, child development, orelementary education
3. OR a documented combination of education and experience
F. It is preferred to have training and experience working in Christian Education.
G. Shall have experience in long-range fiscal planning, operational budget development, reconciliation and review of budget vs. actual spending.
H. Physical/General:
1. Shall have a current, or be able to obtain a TB health card
2. Shall have, or be able to obtain an Infant/child CPR and First Aid
3. Shall have current HIV/AIDS training
4. Shall successfully pass a Criminal History and Background clearance which may include fingerprinting
5. Shall be able to lift 50 pounds
6. Shall be able to work at computer for long period of time
7. Shall work in a non-smoking environment.
I. Shall be hired by the Stepping Stone Christian School and Child Care Board of Directors.
J. Shall meet WAC 388-295 as outlined in the "Minimum Licensing Requirements for Child Day Care Centers" including the following: (also see WAC 388-295 Amendatory Section)
1. Shall be twenty-one years of age or older.
2. Shall serve as administrator of the Center, ensuring compliance of licensing requirements.
3. Shall have planning, coordination, and supervisory skills to implement a high quality, developmentally appropriate Christian education/child care program.
4. Shall have completed STARS 20-hours Basic Guidebook training and 10-hours continuing education every year. (See WAC 388-295 Amendatory Section)

II. Responsibilities
A. Shall be able to conscientiously work in support of the Articles of Faith of Liberty Lake Community Church.
B. Shall be able to oversee the implementation of the Core Values, Mission, educational programs, and policies of SSCSCC, as outlined in the Staff Handbook, Operations Manual, Parent Handbook and Administrative Policies Notebook.
C. Shall oversee the general Administration of the Center in the following areas:
1. Program
a. Shall oversee implementation of Christian educational programs based on Center mission and core values
b. Shall collaborate with Administrative Support Staff and teachers to implement curriculum for specific age groups (including Christian education, curriculum development, assessments, portfolio, conferencing, and resources/materials)
c. Shall oversee supervision of food program
2. Finance
a. Shall participate with BOD in long-range financial planning, preparation of operating and capital budget, implementation and accounting of budgets
b. Shall oversee staff salaries, contracts, wages
c. Shall oversee maintenance of student accounts
d. Shall oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, purchasing of supplies, materials, equipment
e. Shall participate in development, planning and implementation of fund-raisers
3. Personnel
a. Shall instruct staff in implementation of Mission and Core Values of
b. Shall define and maintain Employee Handbook and procedures.
c. Shall hire and dismiss staff as needed.
d. Shall oversee orientation, supervision, evaluation, and in-service training of staff.
e. Shall oversee the maintenance of individual staff files.
f. Shall have a working knowledge of all staff responsibilities.
g. Shall model and support community involvement (ex: EWAEYC, ACSI, etc.)
h. Shall oversee supervision of outside contracts (ex: custodial, musicians, computer educators, special events, consultants, etc.)
i. Shall conduct staff evaluations
4. Communication (written and verbal)
a. Shall oversee communication with staff via
1) Newsletter, periodicals, bulletin boards, memos, encouragement, cards, certificates, etc.
2) Staff generated communications for staff, parents and public
3) Greeting, consultations, conferences, problem-solving, etc. when possible
4) Notification of Center policies and procedures
5) Participation/oversight of staff scheduling
b. Shall oversee communication with parents via
1) Newsletter, periodicals, parent information trays, bulletin boards, etc.
2) Tours for prospective clients/public when possible
3) Greeting, consultations, conferences, problem-solving, etc. when possible
4) Notification of Center policies and procedures
c. Shall communicate with Liberty Lake Community Church via
1) Written and verbal communication with church staff
2) Written Annual Report and annual meeting
3) Bulletin information, flyers, etc.
d. Shall oversee communication with community (Press and Public) via
1) Advertisement (signs, phonebook, newspaper, etc.)
2) Notification of events, etc.
5. Regulations/standards
a. Shall oversee Center to maintain compliance with licensing standards and health and safety regulations
b. Shall oversee NAEYC accreditation (obtain/maintain)
c. Shall oversee upkeep, maintenance and tidiness of facility
d. Shall oversee the maintenance of student records (enrollment, immunizations, attendance, etc.)
e. Shall oversee the maintenance of staff records (ex. STARS, First Aid, etc.)
f. Shall oversee the maintenance of program records (inspections, lesson plans, documentations, etc.)
D. Responsible to and works with the SSCSCC Board of Directors.
6. Shall attend Board Meetings as required by BOD
7. Shall prepare monthly reports at least 3 days prior to board meeting
8. Shall oversee preparation of meeting space
9. Shall set annual goals in the fall of each year
III. Evaluation
The board of directors will provide a biannual performance evaluation.
IV. Hours of Center Operation
Established by the SSCSCC Board of Directors. Currently set at Monday-Friday, between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
V. Rate of Payment
Salary D.O.E. Sick leave accrued at a rate of 5 days per year after probation. Vacation accrued at a rate of two weeks per year after probation. Maximum carry forward is two times the annual
accrual limit.
