Position: Full-Charge Bookkeeper Reports to: Administrator
Department: Administration

General Description:
The Full-Charge Bookkeeper is responsible to maintain all of the financial records of the organization and subordinate ministries and to complete all the steps in the bookkeeping cycle. This is to be accomplished in accordance with sound financial management principles and in keeping with the mission statement and core values of ECC.

Duties and Responsibilities:
In cooperation with the Human Resources Director, maintain all payroll records for all staff using the ADP Payroll System. Complete all state and federal reporting requirements.

Maintain all financial accounts including checking accounts, savings accounts, fund balances, real estate owned, securities and other financial instruments held or processed by the church.
Prepare monthly financial statements and other information as requested for all department heads and board to include narrative explanations as needed.
Assist the Administrator in the annual budgeting process.
Inform Assistant to Senior Pastor of all deposits to CARE Fund account (benevolence) and reconcile the account monthly.
Prepare annual individual financial statements for individual contributors on record and immediate statements/receipts for contributors of large cash or non-cash donations.
Prepare annual financial reports showing assets and liabilities and total giving and disbursements.

Receive all invoices and billings and process according to established procedures.
Maintain the petty cash fund.

Prepare a weekly report of income that includes the counting, recording and depositing of all offerings received. This involves the maintenance of ECCs system of contributor number assignment and donation tracking.
Receive, record and deposit in appropriate accounts all other funds delivered to the church or a subordinate ministry.

Maintain the missions fund account showing all receipts and disbursements.
Transfer missions ledger entries to the church accounting system and incorporate into the overall financial report.

Oversee Assistant Bookkeeper in the recording of all money received by Evergreen Christian School. Supervise the processing of delinquent accounts.

The duties listed here are representative of the duties that may be regularly expected. There may be additional and other duties as assigned by the Administrator or Senior Pastor.

*Must have significant experience in large church/Christian school accounting and financial processes.
*Must be familiar with or willing to learn ADP payroll system.
*Must take initiative in performing job functions with minimal direction.
*Formal education/training in accounting is preferred.
*ECC is looking for the right person who is willing to make a commitment to this position.
