Job Description:

The Department Assistant assists with the day-to-day efficient operation of the Staff Relations (HR) Department by contributing to the accomplishment of human resource practices and objectives.  The Assistant helps with the implementation of services by fielding telephone calls, receiving and directing visitors, maintaining the accuracy of employee data in the CRM database, managing the organization and confidentiality of staff personnel information, and assisting with benefits administration.  Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and hospitality skills are required, including the ability to manage the confidentiality of personnel data.

 

Specific Experience: Qualified candidates should possess at least one year of office admin experience, preferably in human resources, work in a nonprofit or ministry environment a plus.  Must have demonstrated proficiency in handling matters of a highly confidential nature.

 

Educational Background: Minimum of an Associate degree, or high school diploma with some college coursework demonstrating post-secondary reading and writing skills is required.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  The employee must have excellent interpersonal abilities, effective time management and organizational skills with high attention to detail; follows through to completion of assigned tasks, possesses problem solving and decision-making skills, and proficiency in computer applications.  In addition, this individual should have the ability to exercise good judgment in matters of policy and procedures, and conduct himself or herself in a professional manner.

                  

Required Personal Qualifications:  The employee must demonstrate the ability to work well as a member of a team, and bring a spirit of enthusiasm and energy, and multi-cultural awareness.  Personal core beliefs and values must be in alignment with those of Church Resource Ministries.  It is therefore required that employees possess a reputation of honesty and integrity in all personal dealings and affirm CRM’s statement of faith, values, vision and purpose.

 

Physical Activities and Requirements of this PositionWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently  required to sit, talk and hear.  This job is sedentary, requiring the ability to sit most of the time and exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.  The ability to speak clearly and convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, and the ability to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information is necessary.
