The Project Superintendent is under the supervision of the General Superintendent and is the direct supervisor of the construction project and its personnel. Communication with the General Superintendent, Project Director, and Construction Manager is essential.
Craftsman Qualifications: Each Project superintendent must qualify his skill as a craftsman with the ability to perform the following tasks. Not only must the supervisor have knowledge of these tasks, but he must possess the ability to perform such tasks himself with speed and quality.
List of Tasks Are: (All Areas Of Wood Frame Construction), Light Gage Metal Framing, Site Layout, Concrete flatwork, Roofing, Siding, Dryvit or other Exterior Finish Systems, Aluminum Fascia and Soffit, Drywall, Painting, Staining, Finishing, Hanging Doors, Casing windows & Doors, Installing Hardware, Toilet Partitions, Setting Cabinets, Laminate Tops.
Management Qualifications: Each Project Superintendent must have the construction experience and knowledge to coordinate a project from start to finish in a timely manner. The ability to read and understand drawings and specifications is essential.
Moral Qualifications: Must be a person of high moral standing, responsible, reliable and honest. Must show self control and a comfort and experience in working with church leaders.
Job Description: The Project Superintendent is responsible for the construction and management of all workers and subcontractors on his job. Quality control is his responsibility. He is a working Supervisor meaning he will work alongside his crew (when applicable) on the jobsite as time permits, coordinating subcontractors and materials as well as his crew. The General Superintendent orders materials but the superintendent gives direction as to the scheduling and shipment. He is responsible for the evaluations of his crew. He will set starting and ending time of each day for his crew. He has the ability to terminate employment of anyone on his crew. He takes direction the Construction Manager and General Superintendent.
