Job Description:
Taylor University is seeking applications and nominations of candidates to serve as Analyst / Developer in the Information Technology Department. These positions report to the Assistant Director of Applications Services and is part of the Applications Services team. These new positions are a result of additional requirements for an upcoming deployment of portal technologies in conjunction with application development and a web content management system. These12-month salaried positions are currently open with the primary office located in Upland, Indiana.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working as part of a collaborative application development team, the Analyst/Developer(s) will apply sound Software Engineering practices and methodologies to all phases of the application development lifecycle including requirements management, analysis, design, coding, documentation, testing, implementation and support. The person(s) will develop enterprise web-enabled applications that integrate with other enterprise applications including the Banner ERP system. The person(s) in these positions will also be involved in the development of data-marts with the primary focus on the extract-transform-load process. The Analyst/Developer(s) will frequently interact with customers during projects gathering requirements and resolving issues. The person(s) will have the ability to translate technical concepts into terms understandable by the client. The Analyst/Developer(s) will provide support for training and deployment of new applications by working with other members of the Applications Services team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required qualifications include a BA/BS degree, preferably in a related field of study, experience or training in enterprise application development including analysis, design, programming, testing, web application development and relational database technologies. The ideal candidates will have experience in one or more of the following: Java technologies, object-oriented analysis and design, n-tier architectures, database design, and/or data warehousing. Candidates must be strongly committed to the educational mission and evangelical Christian orientation of the University. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications skills and good trouble shooting and problem solving skills. Candidates should be team oriented yet able to work independently.

LOCATION:
Taylor University, a four-year liberal arts college holding to a strong evangelical Christian position, operates campuses in Upland and Fort Wayne, Indiana. Upland is on Indiana Highway 22, five miles east of I-69, fifty miles south of Fort Wayne and seventy miles north of Indianapolis.
