Taylor University is seeking applications and nominations of candidates to serve as Network/Systems Analyst in the Information Technology Department. The position reports to the Computing Services Manager and is part of the Technology Services team. This new position is a result of additional requirements for deployment of enterprise applications and operating systems. This 12-month, salaried position is currently open with the primary office located in Upland, Indiana.
The Network/Systems Analyst is responsible for the ongoing management and operation of the Taylor University network and server resources. He/she works very closely with others in the Computing Services Team to ensure the availability and reliability of the Taylor networks as well as the various enterprise-wide and work-group server systems. This position will focus upon Linux Administration and enterprise applications such as SQL Server, Oracle, and Integration with Windows Systems. Based upon the need to support a variety of networks and data servers, the duties will often be changed or modified to match the technology and current project workloads.
Bachelors degree or appropriate experience required, preferably in a Computer Science, Information Management, or related field. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of server and network systems , understanding of the Information Technology industry, and experience in Linux systems administration, Windows server administration, VB Scripts, and SQL server. Candidates must be strongly committed to the educational mission and evangelical Christian orientation of the University. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications skills and good trouble shooting and problem solving skills. Candidates should be team oriented yet able to work independently.
