Job Description:

Director of Men's New Life Discipleship Program & Shelter Services.  Lead and manage Bridgeport Rescue Mission's New Life Discipleship Program, a faith based addiction recovery program for men.  Also oversee the Men's Emergency Overnight Shelter Services.

  • Ensure the Program components are well integrated to address:  (1) Spiritual Formation; (2) Addiction Recovery; and (3) Life Skills Development.
  • Assist in the development of goals, objectives, yearly planning and outcome measurement with the Director of Program & Strategic Development.
  • Conduct regular Program Staff Meetings to ensure communication and efficient operation of the Program Department and to encourage and develop opportunities for spiritual growth among the staff and clients.
  • Conduct performance evaluations using the Lead Like Jesus model for all Program Staff and Interns.
  • Ensure all volunteer teachers, counselors, etc. have appropriate oversight, direction and feedback and feel a part of the Program team aligned with the goals and objectives of the Program.
  • Evaluate and recommend new initiatives and innovative methods in the area of addiction recovery.
  • Conduct all intake interviews and oversee case management and counseling plan for all clients with case managers.
  • Provide emergency crisis counseling, problem solving and de-escalation strategies for clients and staff.
  • Teach classes as part of the education curriculum of the Program.
  • Preach a regular rotation at General Assembly.
  • Ensure client management software system is being used by all Staff and Interns and provide appropriate reports to Director of Program & Strategic Development.
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures for operation of the Department with the Director of Program.
  • Oversee and manage the Men’s Emergency Shelter services and staff.
