The Director of Development is responsible for all areas of fundraising for Life Issues Institute. Primarily, this involves the solicitation of major donors and prospects for contributions to the organization. This includes financial planning, wills, gifts of stock, etc.
At times, travel out of town to call on donors and prospects may be required.
Coordinate two annual donor telemarketing campaigns and one prospect program. This includes development of a script, providing records for phoning, printing letterhead, writing thank you letters and follow-up.
Write, or oversee the writing of, four annual direct mail letters packages to donors and prospects. This includes coordinating the printer and mailing house with the staff.
Develop an annual Thanksgiving card, which summarizes special programs done that year.
Oversee mailing of the monthly Life Update that is sent to select groups of donors.
Develop periodic special mailings to higher donors.
Personally phone higher donors, thanking them for their contributions.
Develop additional ways to generate income. This will include special events such as major donor receptions.
Direct and oversee an annual fund raising banquet.
