Riverwoods is looking for committed followers of Jesus who desire to serve him by using the unique setting of summer camp to serve under-resourced youth. Riverwoods offers a variety of opportunities for you to use your God-given gifts in serving children and teens from our communities. Specific staff positions include:
Unit Leader- Oversees counselors and campers
Counselor- Guides, encourages and mentors a cabin group of up to seven 6-12 year olds
Teen Coordinator- Oversees all teen programs, staff and participants
Teen Program Director- Guides and mentors a group of 5-10 teens
Activity Director- Oversees all activity areas of camp
Activity Coordinator- Oversees a specific activity area: art, praise, nature or sports
Media/Logistics- Oversees transportation, facility reservations and all audio/video needs
Serving on summer staff is an ideal opportunity for college students looking to gain experience in the fields of youth ministry, camping, community development, Christian education and urban ministries.
Dates of service vary based on positions. All-staff must arrive on or before May 28, 2007. Service ends the evening of August 6, 2007.
High school senior or older. Experience in the areas of youth work, camping and inner-city ministry are preferred but not required.
