Job Description:
The Fundraising/Development Director helps to strengthen and diversify the ministry's fundraising and will work cooperatively with Executive Director, the organization's Board and others to help support the ministry.


General Administrative Duties and Responsibilities:

Plans, organizes, directs and coordinates ongoing fund drives for special projects of the ministry.
Works with Executive Director, Board and its Committees, and the staff, to establish fundraising goals for the ministry according to its financial needs.
Initiate public relations program to promote community understanding and support for the ministry's goals and objectives.
Plans, organizes, directs and coordinates fundraising for the ministry its special events and projects.
Informs potential contributors of special needs of the ministry and encourages individuals, corporations and foundations to establish or contribute to special funds through endowments, trusts, donations of gifts-in-kind or bequests, conferring with attorneys to establish methods of transferring funds to benefit both donors and the ministry.
Organizes direct mail campaigns to reach other potential contributors.
Plans and coordinates benefit events with the Executive Director and is aware of the ministry's established policies for collecting and safeguarding contributions from special events i.e., banquets, balls, auctions, raffles, capital campaigns, galas, organizations doing a benefit for ministry but sharing expenses for fundraiser and amounts ask of Foundations and others through grants, etc.
Coordinates with executive Director regarding instructions to office staff, volunteers, and others when there is a need for extra clerical duties and or computer equipment and accessibility or Board support for their special interest or capabilities.
Develops public relations material to enhance ministry's image and to promote its fundraising programs.
Research potential funders through the internet for grants, both new and past supporters of the ministry, i.e. individuals, corporate and community based supporters.
Cultivate and solicit major donors, ensuring compliance with grant agreements and being involved in the stewardship of major donors to increase the possibility of renewed support.

∑ Demonstrated creativity and resourcefulness in organizing special activities, events, and publicity surrounding clients.
∑ BA/BS/MSW/MBA/MDiv degree or other equivalent administrative experience.
∑ Develop team style approach.
