I. Job Summary
To support all areas of the ministry with creative and functional design elements and publications for print, web, and video productions.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Graphics support for multiple websites.
Serve as the primary print graphic designer and layout specialist for the monthly letter, other personal support letters, field ministry material including logos, posters, flyers, and direct mail adds, Native American promotional materials, packaging of resources such as books, CDs, and DVDs, and administrative projects i.e. the Presidents Retreat materials and the Annual Report, etc.
Oversee files that go to the printers for various RHM projects. Insure the format is correct for the printers use and do approvals of final colors and quality and timeliness of each project.
Complete reports as required by the Director of Media
Oversee the back up of graphics computer, disaster recovery copies and properly archive graphics files for both web and print.
Maintain confidentiality of RHM information and materials.
Assure the quality of web graphics and printed materials
Maintain vendor relationships.
Maintain computers and other equipment and keep files on applications and software.
Marginal Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the inventory and ordering of materials related to in-house print needs.
Serve as part of various task forces (as needed)
Projects and other duties as assigned.
III. Training and Experience
Associates Degree or higher in Graphic Design or related discipline
2 years work experience in a related field
Report to the Director of Media
V. Job Specifications
A. Skills and Knowledge
Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite of software is required.
Experience with CorelDraw helpful but not required.
Ability to make decisions on use of colors, graphics and layout/design that will motivate our constituents to the appropriate action.
Basic understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite of products especially Word and Excel is required and a working knowledge of Power Point and Publisher will be helpful
Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint Services is helpful but not required
Familiarity with basic principles of print and website design
Ability to organize and manage multiple schedules and time lines
Ability to multitask
Ability to work well with people and give and receive information/instruction from individuals
Ability to make independent decisions
Good interpersonal communication skills
Good organization and time management skills
Ability to anticipate problems and take initiative to solve them
Ability to maintain confidentiality
