Job Description:
Appalachian Family Innovations (AFI) is looking for married couples or individuals to be a live-in Teaching-Parents.

AFI works with many agencies that provide a long-term program serving five (5) to eight (8) children at a time ranging in ages from ten to seventeen (10-17).

The agencies are located in Central and Western North Carolina and the upstate of South Carolina. These agencies serve children primarily referred by Juvenile Court, Mental Health, and Social Services.

These positions require the staff to live-in the home but also allow for an average of eight (8) days off per month, plus holidays and vacation days. Starting salary range is $22,000.00 to $26,000.00 per person depending on education and experience. Health insurance is provided for the staff. Some agencies provide retirement as well.

Comprehensive training, consultation, and evaluation are provided by AFI, a divsion of Appalachian State University. AFI and all of our affiliate agencies are equal opportunity employers.

Some of the agencies require bachelor's degree in a human service field while others only require a high school diploma. Experience in this field is not a requirement but it is helpful.
