General Position Summary:
This person will split time between the Maintenance Department and Grounds Department. Maintenance responsibilities include assisting in the upkeep and repair of Conference owned facilities and equipment. This person will also assist the Grounds Supervisor in the development and maintenance of grounds and gardens for the enjoyment of CBCC guests and aid in the sanitary upkeep of Conference grounds and staff housing units.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
1.Repair and maintenance of guest facilities and Conference-owned staff residences.
2.Perform Preventative Maintenance of Conference-owned buildings and equipment.
3.Repair of residential and commercial appliances.
4."On-call" for off-hours maintenance needs about one week per month.
5.Assist with Maintenance and Grounds responsibilities at Ecola Creek Lodge as assigned.
6.Work cooperatively with volunteers in both Maintenance and Grounds projects.
7.Planting, watering and care of flowers, shrubs, trees, and lawn including application of pesticides.
8.Fill in for the Grounds Supervisor on his days off.
9.Day-to-day care of the greenhouse.
1.Perform minor maintenance of tools and equipment.
2.Maintain order in the Maintenance Inventory area.
3.Cut firewood and stock the firewood boxes.
4.Assist in other departments as assigned.
5.All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills required (including education and experience):
1.A committed Christian in agreement with CBCC Statement of Faith and has a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
3.A helpful attitude with good interpersonal and communication skills.
4.Able to work outdoors in any kind of weather.
5.Able to work Saturdays during the months of June, July and August and will rotate working Sundays watering in the Greenhouse and outside as needed year-round.
6.A valid drivers license and a clean driving record for the past three years. Ability to safely maneuver trailers and able to drive a van or pickup to Portland for supplies.
7.Mechanical aptitude with some knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating systems, and appliance repair.
8.Carpentry skills including trim, dry walling, and painting.
9.Good reading and general math skills.
10.Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
11.A good eye for detail
12.Able to operate a variety of gas or electric power tools and equipment
