Waterfront Director (summer) - lead 20+ college-aged summer staff who run our popular waterfront activities at our summer camp on the upper Chesapeake Bay - sailing, waterskiing, fishing, canoeing. Responsible for safety, procedures, scheduling, staff motivation, all waterfront equipment (sailboats, speedboats, canoes, rescue equipment, etc.), quality of instruction, emergency response. Assist in coordinating opportunities for spiritual growth and support for all staff.
Assistant Camp Director (off-season) - work with Camp Director to recruit, interview, hire and train 140+ college-aged summer staff. Work with retreat groups, marketing, and whatever else comes up in the off-season :-).
We're looking to find a strong Christian role model and leader who can effectively work with, motivate, and mentor college-aged staff from around the world. The position can either be summer only if there is an intention to return year after year, or it can be year-round with the two different seasonal focuses described above.
Required experience & certifications:
Experience in sailing and/or speedboat driving required. Must already be lifeguard or be a strong swimmer who is able to pass the lifeguard course at our training. Proven management experience required.
Additional desirable experience & certifications (not required):
Any of the following certifications are a plus but are not required: Water Safety Instructor (WSI), Sailing Instructor, Waterski Instructor, Canoe Instructor or Coast Guard Captain's License. Boat maintenance/repair experience is also a plus.
