Vice President for Academic Affairs

Hannibal-LaGrange College (HLG) is a private four-year Christian liberal arts college, affiliated with the Missouri Baptist Convention (Southern Baptist Convention). Located in the historical city of Hannibal, in northeast Missouri, this 110-acre campus is beautifully situated on bluffs rising above the mighty Mississippi River. HLG faculty members exhibit a genuine concern for individuals and their progress while serving 1,135 undergraduate and graduate students. HLG offers a Master of Science degree in education and nine undergraduate degrees in 33 majors. The mission of HLG is to provide an excellent, liberal arts education in a distinctively Christian environment, thus preparing students for both personal and career effectiveness. The ideal candidate should possess the following professional qualifications, experiences, and skills:
An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited university;
A commitment to Christian education and values;
Demonstrated experience in regional accreditation processes, strategic planning, instructional technology planning and implementation, financial planning/budgeting, or employee relations (three to five years experience preferred);
Ability to relate to faculty and to listen closely, analyze, persuade, advocate, represent, and communicate with clarity;
Achievement as a teacher-scholar and a commitment to excellence in teaching, learning, and scholarship;
Awareness of higher education trends, non-traditional education, and multi-campus operations; and
Evidence of strong decision-making ability informed by critical analysis skills.
