LPA is looking for a talented direct marketing strategist with a passion for proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ, who will serve as a driving force behind effective fundraising communications.
The Director of Development Communications reports to the Vice President of Development and contributes as a key member of the Palau Associations leadership team. Youll join a growing team of 16 development professionals at the LPA headquarters in Portland, Oregon.
Develop and manage integrated mass donor communications strategies for enlisting, generating and increasing financial and spiritual involvement in this worldwide evangelistic ministry.
Compensation and Benefits

Areas of Development Responsibilities
Donor Acquisition - Develop, implement and manage new name acquisition and first-gift strategies through festivals, radio, television, telemarketing, direct marketing and special events using Internet, print and electronic media.
Direct Mail and Telephone Fundraising - Create effective direct mail strategies and packages for raising funds by mail and telephone.
Pre-Festival/Post-Festival Donor Communications - Develop, implement and manage comprehensive communication and solicitation strategies to generate second gifts and encourage prayer involvement.
Receipting and Reporting - Oversee thank-you, receipt messaging and reporting to enhance building relationships and encourage future partnership.
TV, Radio and Internet Fundraising - Implement and monitor offers and follow-up strategies on LPA radio, TV and Internet venues.
Supervise Development Communications Staff - Production Manager and Ministry Relationship Representative report to Director of Development Communications.
Email Fundraising - Develop and implement strategies and schedules for effective email fundraising and donor acquisition.
Manage Communications Vendors - These vendors include Web design, email fulfillment, and contracted research and writing.
Internet Strategist - Provide strategic direction to how LPA will utilize the Internet.
Newsletter Strategist - Give creative direction regarding theme, focus, etc., for the ministrys newsletter to maximize development impact of content and focus.
Reporting and Analysis - Analyze results of fundraising activities above, present findings and make improvements for future campaigns.
1. Excellent marketing skills and a strong youth orientation.
2. Minimum of five years experience in direct marketing and/or fundraising strategies.
3. Bachelors degree in Communications, Business, or Marketing.
4. Strong management skills.
5. Writing, editing and proofreading skills.
6. Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
7. Able to relate with designers, project managers, writers, and IT managers.
8. Able to plan strategically and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
9. Ability to analyze each marketing projects performance.
10. Strong computer application skills.
11. Available to travel for training and to attend some LPA festivals and activities.
