Position Opening: Database Administrator

The Council for Christian Colleges & Universities seeks a Database Administrator responsible for the Councils iMIS Association Management System with web-based CMS. The vision for this position is to leverage the full value of our data assets and to further the goals of our organization through the administration, optimization and future development of our recently implemented iMIS v.15 database.
This position will work across business teams and with external vendors to facilitate the evolving data needs for the CCCU with emphasis on availability, reliability, scalability and security. The Database Administrator reports to Director of Technology Services
The Council is a professional association of 179 campuses in 23 nations whose mission is to advance the cause of Christ-centered higher education and to help its member institutions transform lives by faithfully relating scholarship and service to biblical truth. The Council coordinates professional development opportunities for administrators and faculty, manages U.S. based and international off-campus student programs, provides public advocacy for Christ-centered higher education and manages cooperative efforts among its member campuses. The Council has an $11 million budget, employs 70 plus staff in the U.S. and seven international locations, recruits almost 800 students a year for its student programs and has over 1,200 participants a year at 30 different professional development conferences.
Main Job Functions:
The ideal candidate shall possess solid analytical and technical skills in the area of data management.
Manage the continued development of our database
Troubleshoot and resolve problems; respond to telephone, email and user requests for support
Ensure ongoing data integrity for all administrative and web databases
Administer and maintain global database access - includes the security aspect of all data access
Develop and enforce data schema and best practice usage policies
Implement iMIS version updates and workstation setup of iMIS
Identify and fulfill user training needs; Upkeep of training documentation
Design, modify and generate queries and reports as needed to meet the data reporting requirements of staff; use of Crystal Reports an advantage
Work with Web Manager to facilitate Web users providing and receiving accurate database records

Human Resources Manager
Persons applying for the position should:
Have a strong appreciation for Christian mission and purpose of the CCCU
Understanding of and experience with relational databases (iMIS experience desirable)
Experience working with website content management an advantage
Familiarity with MS-SQL, MS-SQL management tools and SQL query language
Familiarity with .NET for Windows applications and ASP programming an advantage
At least three years of relevant work experience, bachelors degree an advantage
Excellent communication and people-skills
Extremely detail-oriented, highly organized and flexible
Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and be a self-starter. Function well with little supervision
