Manages the following position(s): Senior Accounting Specialist
Status: Full-time, exempt
JOB PURPOSE: To work in close coordination with the International President and National Directors to ensure that Global Actions worldwide financial operations are sound and run smoothly.

Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize and execute tasks with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities include interaction with donors, various staff within Global Action, volunteers and vendors.
Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
Available and willing to occasionally work extra hours on evenings and weekends.
Develop and monitor annual operating budgets.
Monitor and forecast cash flow.
Oversee annual audits by independent auditing firm and worldwide audit process.
Consolidate and manage the financial reports from various Global Action offices. Analyze and interpret financials and provide management reports, other business reports and trends for leadership discussion and decision.
Forecast organizations long term financial needs.
Interact with and provide training, guidance, and advice to national directors and their accounting staff.
Ensure compliance to tax and other regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with ECFA operational and financial requirements.
Maintain awareness of international offices financial statuses.
Provide sound financial updates on program funding and income needs to the Development team.
Other duties as assigned.
Certified Public Accountant certificate is required.
Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
Masters degree or equivalent in experience is preferred.
At least five years of experience as Director of Finance or an equivalent role is required.
Experience in non profit accounting is required.
Experience managing an accounting department is required.
Experience with international accounting departments is preferred.

Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment.

Must spend majority of time concentrating on LCD identifying and updating information.
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs; retrieving and placing materials on high shelves and on floor-level shelves; standing, walking; carrying; grasping; hearing; seeing; sitting; kneeling; climbing; balancing; stooping; crouching and reaching.
May require travel in developing countries with exposure to safety and disease hazards.
Climate controlled general office environment.
International travel is required.
Overtime hours may be required.
