SUMMARY OF ROLE:
This role will be responsible for creating audio, animation, graphics, and text that work together creatively across platforms as diverse as DVDs, CD-ROMs, and the Web. The person in this role will be responsible for shooting video and editing footage to create training and promotional footage for church partners. This person must possess the ability to take a script and determine the best way to communicate it through video, will be the project manager of all multimedia projects, and must be able work well with other departments.
DVD and CD authoring
o Shooting video on campus and at remote locations
o Setting up studio lighting for shoot
o Capturing sound on video shoot
o Taking a script and creating the best way to communicate it through video
o Non-linear editing with Final Cut
Converting tapes to DVD for archiving purposes
Introducing new equipment as required and as budget allows enhancing ministry effectiveness
Being flexible and accommodating to any project that comes up on short notice
1. This position will require an individual that can take direction, follow through, and make corrections/decisions to stay on track.
a. Extremely strong communication skills used to update supervisor and various individual(s) responsible for final multimedia product(s). Strong personal initiative to consistently update all parties involved in completing any and all projects.
b. Willingness to share information in order to maintain prioritization of projects and be supportive of others.
c. Skillful in asking questions to be able to complete project(s) in a timely manner.
2. This position will need to be able to manage numerous projects and deadlines at one time. This position will consistently be jumping from one thing to the next.
a. Ability to remain motivated and patient when several rounds of changes occur during the life of a project.
b. Ability to recognize, request, and recommend additional resources for a project to supervisor.
c. Ability to efficiently navigate between Powerpoint, web or DVD production projects.
Bachelors Degree (preferably in multi-media or communications field)
Multi-media experience in various mediums including web, DVD, CD or powerpoint - 5 years
Mac skills/experience in editing software
Basic knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office and Outlook
Prior experience in professional photography
Prior experience producing multi-media tools for the sports industry
Participant or member of multi-media association(s)/conference(s)
ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS & STANDARDS:
This individual will work closely with the following departments within the organization:
Program Development, Purchasing, Communications, Multi-media and Office of the President.
This position will require high volume travel at times based on project needs both domestically
Other duties as required by the organization including cataloging and maintaining all multimedia equipment in excellent working condition.
Above all else, this individual must have and maintain a high ethical behavior.
