To direct, administer, and manage all Junior-aged programs including but not limited to Indian Village, Adventure Mountain, and Junior Winter Camps for maximum ministry impact.
Guides and directs management in the development, staffing, promotion and implementation of the programs for Indian Village, Adventure Mountain, and Junior Winter Camps.
Directs the preparation of the short term and long range plans and budgets of the Junior Program based on the Forest Homes broad goals, vision, and mission statement.
Develops, maintains, and implements a procedures manual that includes established guidelines and procedures to help insure adequate staff development and to provide for capable management succession.
Maintains regular communication with leaders of groups who utilize Forest Homes Junior Programs.
Evaluates the results of the overall operations of all Junior Programs on a regular, systematic basis and reports these results to the President and the Director of Program Ministries.
Responsible for both the income and expenses of the Junior Program budget.
Leads and directs Junior Program staff, and insures that the responsibilities and accountability of the staff are defined and understood. This includes recruiting, hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation.
Creates and maintains, on an annual basis, up-to-date job descriptions for all Junior Program positions.
Coordinates all Junior Programs such that they are carried out in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing the organization; and the standards of the American Camp Association.
Gives administrative and management support to Director of Program Ministries upon request.
Accounts for the over-all safety and security procedures for all Junior Program staff, campers and counselors, visitors and facilities.
Actively supports and participates in staff spiritual life activities, including staff worship and staff retreat.
Maintains a clean, safe and unobstructed workspace.
Performs other tasks/duties as assigned.
College degree required in related field.
Must have demonstrated camp experience, preferably with a junior program.
Must have understanding and experience in program planning, administrating, budgeting, and scheduling.
Must have strong computer skills.
Must be able to handle confidential matters with excellence.
Established self motivation, creativity, flexibility and honesty within job responsibilities.
Must have excellent people service skills, with the ability to provide service and streamline processes without compromising the integrity of the department or Forest Home and its policies and procedures.
Must be able to accomplish assigned projects utilizing highly developed communication (written and verbal), project management, time management and collaboration skills.
Must demonstrate the ability to perform high quality, detailed work.
Ability to maintain confidentiality with handling sensitive information.
Must demonstrate regular, timely attendance.
Maintains a walk with God displayed by Christian character.
Maintains a Christ-like attitude of service with the intent of blessing others in the name of Christ.
