Motivated by Christ's love, this position plays a key role in promoting the symbiotic ministry of Food for the Hungry (FH) through the framework of the organization's Corporate Identity. God called and we responded until physical and spiritual hungers ended worldwide. In order to accomplish this vision, Food for the Hungry seeks to walk with churches, leaders and families in overcoming all forms of human poverty by living in healthy relationship with God and His creation.
Food Security Senior Program Officer is expected to provide technical support and administrative backstopping to ongoing FH food security programs and the U.S.-based food security capacity building initiative, as well as developing new United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) funded programs.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) in Agriculture, Agricultural Economic, Agricultural Extension or related field from four-year College or university; MA or MS preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least two years experience implementing and/or managing a relief or development program in a developing country (Title II food security programming preferred).
