Job Responsibilities:
The Associate Pastor for Youth and Children is responsible for leading the Youth and Childrens Ministries at Kenmore Community Church (KCC). The primary responsibility is to encourage the spiritual growth of KCC youth and children through biblical teaching, worship and fellowship with the goal of leading them to follow Jesus. An important secondary responsibility is to assist in growing these ministries through outreach related activities in the surrounding community.

The primary duties of the Associate Pastor for Youth and Children are as follows:
Teach Sunday School for Middle School and High School on Sundays.
Administer Sunday School for Children from Preschool to 6th Grade as well as Childrens Church for children ages 3 - 5 during worship service. This entails recruiting volunteers, maintaining a schedule for teachers and helpers, ensuring adequate backup help when conflicts arise as well as selecting and ordering curriculum materials.
Plan and lead a weekly Youth Group for Middle School and High School students.
Plan and lead special Youth activities such as game nights, outreach events and retreats.
Establish a mid-week childrens program for the following age groups: Kindergarten - 2nd Grade, 3rd - 6th Grade.
Some of the above activities may be delegated if adequate volunteer staff is available. The Associate Pastor is responsible for recruitment of these volunteers with the assistance of the Volunteer Coordinator for the church. Church Elders can assist in this recruitment as needed.

Both Youth Group and Childrens Ministries are expected to be a balanced blend of bible lesson, worship and games or other fun activities to retain the interest of the group members while delivering significant biblical teaching. As these ministries grow, it is expected that the Associate Pastor will mentor volunteer group leaders to ensure this balanced teaching style.

Reporting Relationships:
The Associate Pastor will report to the Senior Pastor. The Senior Pastor will work closely with the Associate Pastor for the direction and leadership of the Youth and Childrens Ministries. The Associate Pastor shall lead, encourage, mentor and delegate responsibility to volunteers participating in the Youth and Childrens Ministries as appropriate.

Able to work in teams and delegate responsibility
Maintains a biblical attitude relating to handling of authority and conflict
Able to present self in a friendly, welcoming manner
Previous experience and/or schooling in youth and childrens ministries

Expectations and Compensation:
The Associate Pastor is expected to work approximately 20 hours per week (Note that this position is part-time "exempt" meaning that some weeks will be more than 20 hours and others less).
Salary: $1200 to $1300 per month depending on experience.
No other benefits are to be assumed.
