Job Description:

TEAM’s campus of land and buildings requires physical upkeep, maintenance and care to maintain a safe, effective, and comfortable working and living environment for staff and guests.  The Facilities Technician, together with the Facilities and Services staff members are responsible to ensure proper upkeep, maintenance, and improvements.


The Facilities Technician will be a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, be in fellowship with a Bible-believing church, and want to make a difference through involvement in world mission. This individual must personally embrace the purpose, vision, and values of TEAM.


  • Must have strong personal calling and commitment to the purpose and vision of TEAM and desire to be involved by taking a behind-the-scenes support role
  • Ability to multi-task assignments without losing sight of priorities, goals and deadlines
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision; and able to follow both detailed and general instructions
  • Strong communication, relational, and organizations skills to be used with co-workers, missionaries, tenants, and contractors
  • Sufficient computer skills for documentation, tracking and report generation; must have basic knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and able to learn new systems
  • Lift items weighing up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to operate power tools (including but not limited to drills, grinders, saws, mowers, and trimmers)
  • Ability to perform maintenance activities in confined and uncomfortable spaces
  • Ability to climb tall ladders (30’)
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, and tolerate temperature extremes
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have skill and experience in several of the following areas:  design and implementation skills in building maintenance; carpentry; electrical; plumbing; HVAC; phone systems; fire alarm/security systems; office machines; drywall; painting; vehicle operation and maintenance; grounds-keeping
  • Friendly, flexible, humble, and keep an eternal perspective
  • Share on-call coverage
  • Perform electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and other repairs
  • Conduct periodic checks of building systems such as boilers, water heaters, sump pumps, fire/security alarms
  • Purchase and transport supplies from suppliers
  • Maintain records by use of request forms, expense reports, online tracking systems
  • Monitor general building conditions and initiate both routine and specific maintenance actions
  • Monitor general grounds conditions and initiate both routine and specific maintenance actions including: mowing, pruning, tree removal, pesticide/herbicide application (pesticide applicator’s license required but may be obtained after start of employment), etc.
  • Snow removal:  clear parking lots, driveways, and sidewalks of snow by use of snow blower, snow plow, salt spreader for all buildings on TEAM campus
  • Maintain proper presentation of US flag at home office
  • Be cross-trained in all operations of the mailroom and act as backup to the Mailroom Coordinator
