Position:  Accounting Manager

This role supports the finance team and the company in ensuring financial integrity by recording, verifying, and reconciling transactions ensuring accurate financial reporting.  The role has the staff accountant as a direct report and from time to time will also require the supervision and management of clerical accounting staff, medical biller and interns.

Duties and Responsibilities

-          Analysis and Reconciliation of Cash Depository Accounts

-          General Ledger Account Reconciliations

-          Preparation and Entry of Journal Entries

-          Invoice  Data Entry and Accounts Payable Processing

-          Partner and Client Billing and Accounts Receivable Management

-          Revenue and Transaction Recording

-          Payroll Processing

-          Manage donor gifts and payments and donor receivables

-          Manage the Month End Close

-          Manage the year-end financial close

-          Coordinate and manage the annual financial audit and tax return preparation

-          Prepare and manage budgets and forecasts

-          Support CEO  and other organizational leaders with financial and operational data analysis

-          Generate month end financial reports

-          Generate month end reporting packets for board meetings as needed




Position Characteristics

-          Demonstrate ability to operate independently with minimal daily direction

-          Successful candidate will have ability to identify and implement opportunities for improvement

-          Must be a self-starter and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

-          Must be detail and accuracy oriented

-          Must have the ability to meet assigned deadlines and present information in a timely manner

-          Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work load and projects

-          Ability to demonstrate flexibility with changing priorities

-          Must have excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills

-          Must demonstrate strong communication, mathematical and reasoning skills

-          Must demonstrate ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner

-          Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate with others

-          Perform other duties and projects as and when required



-          Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field

-          3-5 years of experience with full-cycle accounting and month-end close process

-          Proficiency in QuickBooks

-          Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

-          Great oral and written communication skills

-          Knowledge of Medical or Mental Health segment a  plus

-          Experience with medical billing would be a plus

-          Experience in Non-profit organizations a plus

-          Knowledge of Therapist Helper software a plus
